Why Nice works for an Instagram session
Nice gives more variety per square kilometre than anywhere else on this coast, and it is the only city here you can reach without a car. The airport is ten minutes from the Promenade, the tram runs to the old town, and the four best backdrops sit inside one walk. If your trip is short, this is where a session costs you the least time.
It is also a city that photographs well in the middle of the day, which almost nothing else here does. The old town lanes are narrow enough to stay in shade, so a session at 11am still works, which matters when a group is on holiday and nobody wants a 6am alarm.

How a content session with friends actually runs
Nobody in your group needs to know how to pose. We meet at the first spot, walk, talk and shoot as we go, and the direction is limited to where to stand and where to look. Most of the frames people keep are the ones between the poses, so we shoot through the walking and the laughing rather than stopping for it.
One hour covers three backdrops and two outfits comfortably. Two hours gets you a fourth spot, a swimsuit change and the time to slow down. Everyone in the group is photographed alone as well as together, which is the part people underestimate: a girls trip gallery where each person also has ten strong solo frames is worth far more to the group than the same number of group shots.

Practical things to know in Nice
Public spaces in Nice need no permit for a small handheld session, and the Promenade, Castle Hill and the old town are all public. Productions with lighting, blocked pavements or vehicles need city authorisation, which we can arrange. On market mornings, Cours Saleya belongs to the stallholders first, so we work around them rather than through them.
Nice is the practical choice for a session squeezed into a travel day. We regularly shoot groups on their arrival afternoon or on the morning before an evening flight, because the airport sits at the end of the Promenade and nobody loses half a day to transport.

How many spots can we cover in one session in Nice?
Three comfortably in an hour, four in two hours, all on foot. The Promenade des Anglais, Place Massena and the lanes of Vieux Nice sit within a fifteen minute walk of each other, and Castle Hill is a lift ride above the old town. No other town on this coast packs that much variety into one walk.
Which spot gives the classic Nice photo?
The blue chairs on the Promenade des Anglais with the Baie des Anges behind you, and the Castle Hill viewpoint for the wider frame with the terracotta roofs of the old town below. Those two, plus five minutes in the ochre lanes of Vieux Nice, give a gallery that reads unmistakably as Nice.
Can we do the session on the day we land?
Yes, and it is common. Nice airport is about ten minutes from the Promenade, so an arrival-afternoon or departure-morning session costs you almost no holiday time. Tell us your flight, we place the session around it and pick backdrops close to your hotel so nobody is carrying luggage between spots.
Does Nice work in the middle of the day?
Better than anywhere else on this coast. The old town lanes are narrow enough to stay in shade at noon, so an 11am or midday session in Vieux Nice holds up. The Promenade and Castle Hill still want early morning or the hour before sunset, when the bay light turns warm and directional.
