Saint-Tropez wedding photographer: cost, coverage and how to choose (2027)

Published prices, what a full day includes, a timeline set on the sunset, and the permit rule most couples only hear about too late.

In short

A wedding photographer in Saint-Tropez costs 2,890 € all taxes included for a full 8-hour day with 250 edited photos on Riva's published rates, or 5,490 € for a two-day weekend. Build the day around sunset: 21:15 in mid-June 2027, 19:44 in mid-September. Portraits on public land in the village need a municipal permit filed at least seven days ahead.

You are planning a 2027 wedding on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, and you need a wedding photographer you can trust from far away. This guide covers what a Saint-Tropez wedding photographer costs, what a full day really includes, how the light shapes the timeline, and the local permit rule most couples never hear about. It ends with the questions worth asking anyone you consider.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Saint-Tropez? (2027)

Every format includes individual retouching, a private gallery and travel anywhere on the French Riviera. There is no separate line for transport, even for a villa in the hills of Ramatuelle.

Riva published rates, all taxes included, no travel fees on the French Riviera. Checked October 2026. For an unusual request, the price is adjusted and confirmed in writing before anything is booked.

What moves a quote is rarely the hourly rate. It is the number of days, a second photographer for a large guest list, or a session far from the coast. Ask for every line in writing before you sign.

What does full-day wedding coverage include?

A full day means 8 hours of presence, usually from the last hour of preparation to the first dance. That window covers every moment couples ask for, without paying for the quiet hours of the late night. With Riva, the full day includes:

Nothing is published without your written consent. For a wedding with well-known guests, that rule matters more than any lens.

What does a Saint-Tropez wedding day look like, hour by hour?

The whole day is set backwards from sunset, so the couple portraits fall in the last warm light. In 2027, the sun sets at 21:15 on 15 June and at 19:44 on 15 September in Saint-Tropez. That gap of an hour and a half changes the whole schedule.

Here is how we shape an 8-hour day for each of the two best months. The ceremony ends well before sunset, and portraits take twenty to thirty minutes while guests enjoy the cocktail.

Two local details change a plan. The Place des Lices market fills the village on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, according to the town hall. And a mistral day can make a cliff terrace unusable, so we always keep a sheltered second spot for portraits.

Do you need a permit for wedding photos in Saint-Tropez?

Yes, as soon as a professional shoot takes place on public land in the commune of Saint-Tropez. The town asks for an online form, a liability insurance certificate, bank details and a company registration extract. A daily public highway fee applies: 116.95 € for a day of photography and 236.15 € at night, on the latest schedule published by the town.

“A minimum period of 7 days is mandatory for processing the application.”

So portraits on the old harbour or in the lanes of La Ponche need a file sent at least a week ahead. Inside a private villa, a hotel or on a boat, what counts is the owner's agreement. Three further points are easy to miss:

Our Saint-Tropez photographer guide reproduces the full fee schedule, and our guide to photography permits on the Riviera covers the other towns.

What should you ask a wedding photographer before booking?

Ask questions whose answers you can check in writing, not questions about style alone. A portfolio shows taste. These six answers show how your day will actually run:

Be wary of two answers in particular: “a permit is never needed here”, and a delivery date given in months. The first ignores the town's published rules. The second leaves you waiting until the honeymoon is a memory.

Where do Saint-Tropez weddings take place?

Most visiting couples hold a symbolic ceremony at a hotel, a wine estate or a private villa, and sign the legal papers at home. French law ties a civil marriage to a commune where one partner or a parent has a lasting link.

“The marriage is celebrated in a commune with which at least one of you has a lasting tie.”

Before the day, we scout your venue and the portrait spots, then build the timeline with your planner around the light. Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Saint-Tropez?

On Riva's published rates, 2,890 € all taxes included for a full 8-hour day with 250 edited photos, and 5,490 € for a two-day weekend. Shorter formats cost 1,290 € for two hours and 1,890 € for a half day. Travel on the French Riviera is included, and first photos arrive within 48 hours.

What time should a wedding ceremony start in Saint-Tropez?

Set it so that it ends well before sunset, leaving time for the cocktail and twenty to thirty minutes of portraits in the last light. In 2027 the sun sets at 21:15 on 15 June and at 19:44 on 15 September in Saint-Tropez, so a ceremony around 18:00 in June or 16:30 in September works well.

Do you need a permit for wedding photos in Saint-Tropez?

For a professional shoot on public land in the commune, yes. The town asks for an online form, insurance, bank details and a company registration extract at least seven days ahead, with a daily fee of 116.95 € for daytime photography on its latest schedule. Private villas, hotels and boats need the owner's agreement instead.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos?

With Riva, a first curated selection arrives within 48 hours and the complete retouched gallery within 7 days. Each photograph is edited individually, and the gallery stays private and password-protected, with nothing published without your written consent.

Travel has always been my great luxury, and I have always wanted to keep the most beautiful images of it. Yet in each new destination, the same question returned: whom to trust with those moments? Finding an exceptional photographer far from home takes time, all the more when you do not speak the language.

Riva was born from that conviction. We work only with the finest photographers in each destination, chosen for the quality of their eye and the rigour of their service: punctual on the day, faithful to every date we promise. You write to us, and everything else is taken care of. On the French Riviera as in Courchevel, the same standard of excellence.
