Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique 2027: a collector's guide to the night finish in Monaco

The 29th edition, 27 January to 3 February 2027: the official timetable, the four start cities, where to see the cars arrive, and what it takes to enter.

In short

The 29th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique runs from 27 January to 3 February 2027. Cars start on 28 January from Bad Homburg, Barcelona, Monte-Carlo and Reims, meet in Valence, and cross the Col de Turini from 18:00 on 2 February. The first cars reach the Port Hercule from 19:50 that night. The gala is on 3 February. A crew's entry fee is 7,100 €.

If you own a car that once ran the Monte-Carlo and you are coming to Monaco to watch the finish, the 2027 Historique is fully timetabled already. The 29th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique runs from 27 January to 3 February 2027, and the first cars reach the Port Hercule from 19:50 on Tuesday 2 February.

This guide is for a collector who flies in with his wife for the finish, and who wonders whether to enter a future edition. Every figure below comes from the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) and Visit Monaco, read in October 2026.

Which start city suits you: Bad Homburg, Barcelona, Monaco or Reims?

For a German or Swiss crew, Bad Homburg is the natural choice, but it is also the longest route and the smallest field. All four starts lead to Pont-de-l'Isère and Valence on Friday 29 January.

In Bad Homburg, scrutineering runs from 14:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday 27 January at the Central-Garage, and the cars leave from the Kurhaus the next afternoon.

Where should you watch the night arrival in Monaco?

Be on the Port Hercule before 19:50 on Tuesday 2 February. The sun sets at about 17:43 that day, so the cars arrive in the dark.

"The first cars are expected to arrive at Port Hercule from 7.50 pm on Tuesday 2 February 2027." Visit Monaco

How the evening unfolds

The ACM had not published any spectator ticket or price for 2027 in October 2026.

Can you see the Col de Turini stage and the Monaco finish on the same night?

In practice, no: choose one. RS15 runs 22 km from La Bollène-Vésubie to Moulinet over the Col de Turini, with the first car at 18:00.

In 2026 the ACM closed stage roads to cars two hours before the first competitor, and to walkers 30 minutes before. If the same rule applies, you would need to be in place by about 16:00 and could not leave until the stage ends. You would then miss the first arrivals at 19:50.

If you still choose the Turini

For a couple, the harbour is the better evening.

Could you enter your own car next time, and what does it cost?

Yes, if your car is a model that ran the Monte-Carlo Rally up to the January 1986 edition and holds a recognised historic document. The ACM accepts an FIA Historic Technical Passport, an FIA historic regularity car pass, a FIVA identity card or a national identity card. The organiser selects the cars.

What a regularity rally asks of you

The Historique is a regularity rally, so speed alone does not win. You drive each closed-road stage at an average speed set by the organiser, always below 70 km/h, and hidden timing points measure how closely you hold it.

The entry fee and what it includes

The 2027 entry fee is 7,100 € per crew of a driver and a co-driver. It includes two nights for two in a luxury Monaco hotel on 2 and 3 February, two gala tickets and the arrival buffet. A temporary licence costs 80 € more.

Entries for 2027 opened on 14 September 2026 and close on 8 November 2026, so there is still time if you decide quickly. If not, 2028 dates are not yet published: as the 2027 entries opened in September, watch the ACM site from late summer.

Where should you stay, and how do you get to Monaco?

Stay in Monte-Carlo, so the night arrival and dinner are both on foot. The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, a five-star hotel on the Place du Casino open since 1864, is the classic address. It houses Le Louis XV, Alain Ducasse's three-Michelin-star restaurant.

The gala on Wednesday is black tie, so pack a dinner jacket if you are invited. For the airport, the helicopter and the coach, see our Monte-Carlo Rally guide, which covers the same trip from Nice.

Is it worth booking a photographer for the Historique?

Yes, if you want a portrait of the two of you with the cars, in Monaco rather than in a crowd photo. Riva is a private luxury photography agency on the Riviera, with discreet senior photographers who work in public spaces, never inside the parc fermé or the gala.
