Gala night or a winners' show: which should a family choose?

Choose the gala on 26 January if the occasion matters most, and a winners' show if you want the same acts for less. The gala is the evening when the prizes, including the Clown d'Or, are handed out.

Our advice for children of 8 to 14

For a long weekend, fly in on Saturday 23 January, see a competition show, and stay for the gala on Tuesday.

How much are tickets for the Monte-Carlo Circus Festival 2027?

Seats cost from 30 € to 210 €, and the gala ranges from 45 € in the back stands to 210 € in the front armchairs. Fauteuils A are nearest the ring; Gradins D are the back stands.

A 6 € booking fee applies, according to the official 2027 price grid.

Children's rates and the gala

Children aged 5 to 12 inclusive pay half price, but on gala night only in the Gradins (the stands). From 27 to 31 January, and at the 10:30 show on 24 January, the half-price rate also covers every armchair section. Under-fives sit free on a parent's lap. A child of 13 or 14 pays the adult price.

Two parents with a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old in Fauteuils A at the gala pay 840 €, before fees.

How to book

Book online at montecarlofestival.mc, by email to reservation@montecarlofestival.mc, or at the box office. Tickets are neither exchanged nor refunded. Collect them at least 30 minutes before the show: latecomers are seated only during a pause.

Is there a dress code for the gala?

The festival does not publish a dress code for the gala. Its house rules only ask for clothing that does not offend other guests. Our view: it is the Princely family's evening, so a dark suit or a smart dress feels right. Bring warm coats for the walk in.

Météo-France normals for Nice give a January average high of 13.3°C and a low of 5.8°C. Our guide to the French Riviera in winter covers what else is open that month.

How do you get to the big top at Fontvieille?

From Nice airport, the Monacair helicopter takes about 7 minutes and lands at the Monaco heliport, on the same avenue des Ligures as the big top.

Parking and the drive home

The festival lists five car parks nearby: the Parking des Écoles, Stade Louis II, Saint-Nicolas, Salines and Wurtemberg. The buses run until about 21:00, which is too early for most evening shows. Book a driver for the return after the gala.

Where should you stay and eat?

Stay in Monte-Carlo for the setting, or in Fontvieille to be close to the big top. The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, a five-star hotel on the Place du Casino open since 1864, is about 2.5 km by road from the big top. It houses Le Louis XV - Alain Ducasse, with three Michelin stars. In Fontvieille, the Hôtel Columbus Monte-Carlo stands at 23 avenue des Papalins.

On site, the festival lists the Café du Cirque and food trucks.

Is it worth booking a family photographer on gala night?

Yes: the hour before the gala, with everyone dressed up, is the portrait you will frame. Photography is forbidden inside the big top, so the pictures happen outside, before you go in. Riva is a private luxury photography agency on the Riviera, and our photographers work discreetly in public places or in your hotel.
