Getting married in Antibes and Juan-les-Pins: venues, photo spots and planning (2027)

The legal side for foreign couples, the venues by the sea and inland, the 2027 sunset times, and where to take your wedding portraits.

In short

Foreign couples can only marry legally in Antibes if one of them has lived there for at least a month, so most sign the legal papers at home and hold a symbolic ceremony on the coast. May, June and September work best, with sunset at 21:14 on 15 June 2027. The Garoupe plateau and the Tirepoil coastal path are the classic portrait spots.

Can foreign couples legally marry in Antibes?

Yes, but only at the town hall, and only if one of you has a real link to the town. Service-Public.fr, the official French administration site, says the wedding takes place where one of you has your home. A temporary stay counts too, after at least one month of continuous residence on the day the banns are published. The town where one of your parents lives is also accepted.

The banns are then displayed at the town hall for 10 days. Foreign partners also bring papers from their embassy or consulate, such as a certificate of custom, which sets out the marriage law of their country.

For most couples on a trip, the month of residence is the obstacle. The simplest plan is to sign the legal papers at home, then hold a symbolic ceremony in Antibes. A symbolic ceremony is not a legal marriage in France, but it can take place wherever your venue allows: a garden, a beach, a terrace above the sea.

Our guide on eloping on the French Riviera explains the same choice for couples who come alone.

What kinds of wedding venues are there around Antibes?

Couples choose between seafront hotels, villas with a private beach, Provençal estates and private villas on the Cap. The three venues below present themselves as wedding venues on their own websites. They also appear in the 2026 wedding venue brochure of Côte d'Azur France, the regional tourism board.

A seafront hotel in Juan-les-Pins

Hôtel Belles Rives stands on the water in Juan-les-Pins. Its Art Deco restaurant opens onto a terrace facing the Estérel and the Lérins Islands. The private beach takes up to 300 guests, and a pontoon allows a wedding arrival by boat.

A villa with a private beach

Villa Djunah sits on the seafront between Cannes and the old town of Antibes, with gardens, terraces and a private beach on the bay of Juan-les-Pins. The brochure gives up to 150 guests for a wedding ceremony or a seated dinner, and up to 400 for a cocktail.

A Provençal estate inland

La Bastide du Roy lies near the golf course and the village of Biot. The estate covers more than 7 hectares of gardens and olive trees. If the weather turns, dinner moves under a 400 m² olive tree pavilion.

A private villa on the Cap

The fourth option is a private villa on the Cap d'Antibes, rented for the weekend. This is where Riva photographs most of its Antibes weddings. Before you sign, confirm with the owner that events, music and your guest numbers are allowed.

When is the best month to get married in Antibes in 2027?

May, June and September give the best balance of long evenings and soft light. On 15 June 2027 the sun sets at 21:14 in Antibes, so a ceremony at 18:00 still leaves three hours of daylight. By 15 September, sunset comes at 19:42, and by 15 October at 18:49.

Two events change the town. Les Voiles d'Antibes brings classic yachts to Port Vauban from 2 to 6 June 2027, so book guest rooms early if your date falls that week. In July, the Jazz à Juan festival takes over the pine grove of Juan-les-Pins. See our guides to Les Voiles d'Antibes and Jazz à Juan.

Where are the best wedding photo spots in Antibes?

Five places cover most wedding portraits here: the ramparts, the Garoupe plateau, the Tirepoil coastal path, Plage de la Garoupe and the beaches of Juan-les-Pins. Each is open to the public, so treat them as short stops between the ceremony and dinner.

For the coastal path, bring flat shoes for the walk and change once you reach the rocks. Keep a backup spot, such as your venue's garden, for days when the path is closed. Our guide to the best photo spots in Antibes and our Juan-les-Pins and Cap d'Antibes photoshoot guide describe each place in more detail.

Travel has always been my great luxury, and I have always wanted to keep the most beautiful images of it. Yet in each new destination, the same question returned: whom to trust with those moments? Finding an exceptional photographer far from home takes time, all the more when you do not speak the language.

Riva was born from that conviction. We work only with the finest photographers in each destination, chosen for the quality of their eye and the rigour of their service: punctual on the day, faithful to every date we promise. You write to us, and everything else is taken care of. On the French Riviera as in Courchevel, the same standard of excellence.
